Three years ago, the four musicians that created the world-renown group Fall Out Boy announced they were taking a hiatus to do solo projects. At this time, Pete Wentz was married to Ashlee Simpson, Patrick Stump was a bigger guy, and Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley were sort of hidden in the shadows.
Today, it became official: the band is getting back together to create a new album and going on tour. The heartbroken girls can now dust off those old cds and rock those t-shirts again. The band claims they never broke up but to a normal human being, they were at least separated. But that doesn’t matter anymore because the band is back, without the distractions of health and marriages to divas, to shake up the music industry again!
The new album is going to be called “Save Rock and Roll.” It will be available worldwide in early May, but a new single is available on iTunes now.
Personally, I didn’t mind Fall Out Boy’s music, and I wish I had the chance to see them tour their album “From Under The Cork Tree.” I’m excited to see that they’re back, and I hope their new material is just as good, if not better, than the original hits that made them an international sensation.
I guess I’m also left wondering in the times of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber dominating the music scene, is there room for Fall Out Boy to come in and reclaim the limelight they left? What do all of you think?
Judging by the enormous amount of tweets tagged #falloutboy, their fans haven’t moved on (and two of those tweets are mine!). As long as they put out a good album that isn’t too different from what they’ve done before, I think they’ll be fine. They’re in Indy in June and I’m hoping to go!
